Description
Birch leaves are a natural diuretic, antiseptic, and tonic. They contain betulin and betulinic acid, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, bitters, glycosides, and essential oil. They are also used as a tea for increasing urinary output, breaking down kidney and bladder stones, easing arthritis, gout, pains and stiffness, reducing fluid retention, invigorating poor circulation, and removing waste products (toxins) from the kidneys and urine. HOW TO USE BIRCH LEAVES
Herbal Tea (infusion): Pour 1 cup boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of Birch Leaves. Let stand for 15 min, strain and sip slowly. Drink three times per day. Larger amounts can be prepared and used for spray on skin ailments, bathes for itch and inflammation and to massage into scalp.
Use as a topical poultice for arthritis and joint or muscle pain.
